2,000 Community Improvement Projects Considered for $25K Grants
The State Farm Neighborhood Assist grant program is open to 2,000 submissions for community improvement programs beginning June 6, 2018. The winners will be determined by public vote from 200 finalists.

State Farm announced that it will begin accepting up to 2,000 neighborhood projects entries starting June 6, 2018, through the Neighborhood Assist® grant program. Forty community improvement proposals will be awarded $25,000 each to make their communities safer, stronger and smarter.
A review committee will narrow down to 200 submissions and the winning projects will be selected by public vote. According to the announcement, 72,000 cast 1.8 million votes for in 2017.
Residents of the United States can submit a cause on the Neighborhood Assist website. Ultimately, voters will decide which community improvement projects win big. The public will have a chance to vote up to 10 times a day, every day for 10 days from August 16-August 25. Projects receiving the most votes will be announced on Good Neighbor Day, September 28, 2018.
Through the program, State Farm has awarded $5 million to communities across North America, supporting a range of community improvement causes, including:
- Fighting childhood hunger
- Helping homeless veterans
- Revitalizing parks and programs
- Improving literacy
- Creating athletic programs for children with disabilities
The company wants individuals to enter the submissions for their communities.
